Modern element base of power electronics, control methods and methods of power switches protection are considered, description and analysis of rectifiers and regulators operation are given, including analysis of switching processes and evaluation of converters influence on power supply network. The analysis of damage from higher harmonics in SEES and measures to reduce it are given. Information is given on active power filters that allow to effectively solve the problem of power quality in autonomous electrical installations.
