The work of the largest German philosopher and social theorist is devoted to the problems of legitimization of late capitalism associated with such a key condition for the existence of capitalist political systems as obtaining the "consent" of citizens to preserve them. Today, these political systems face serious crisis phenomena that threaten their very existence. One of the fundamental foundations of the modern crisis of capitalism, according to Habermas, is the contradiction between the dynamics of capitalist growth and the demands for a greater degree of political participation, social justice and equality put forward by citizens of capitalist societies.
