In the book "Cinema of Hostilities" film critic Mikhail Trofimenkov traces the common fate of cinema and the struggle for independence in the second half of the 20th century, talks about filmmakers who witnessed, participated in and victims of military coups, guerilla, repression, neo-colonial wars; about soldiers, partisans and revolutionaries who became filmmakers. The large-scale canvas testifies to events in dozens of countries on four continents: Algeria, Vietnam, Palestine, Iran, Chile, Argentina, France, Italy, Germany, Japan... wherever blood flowed and film was exposed in the name of great ideas.
