In the second book, the author continues to explore the Old Russian mentality. The work is devoted to describing ethical and aesthetic categories that reveal the meaning of the antithesis of Good and Evil. The subject of research was such concepts as beauty, faith, hope, love, etc. The book provides a comprehensive insight into the development of medieval views on the morality of the Eastern Slavs; it examines the semantic and etymological features of the word, which have changed under the influence of moral norms. The study is based on an analysis of various annalistic sources characterizing the interpenetration of pagan images and Christian symbols reflected in the semantic development of indigenous Slavic words and the content of classical texts.
