The collection of documents includes texts presenting descriptions of the Maclay Coast by scientists of various specialties in various time periods from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 21st century: diary entries of naturalist O. Finsch, excerpts from field notebooks by P. Lawrence, diary of physical anthropologist O. M. Pavlovsky, texts of oral history specialist M. Mennis, as well as field materials from employees of Moscow State University and MAE RAS of the 21st century. They can be used as material for ethnographic research, for studying the language situation of the region, as well as for understanding the "anthropology of anthropology."
