The story of the difficult fate of the Russian first printer Ivan Fedorov. The biography of this person is accompanied by a description of how things were with the distribution of books in our country before the creation of the first printing house in Moscow, the reasons for the need to establish printing and the difficulties that had to be overcome for this are analyzed.
