The nineteenth volume of the Library of the Siberian Novel in 20 Volumes includes the first two parts of the novel Sayansky Ranges by Sergei Sartakov. The historical and revolutionary novel "Sayansky Ranges" is one of the significant works of S. Sartakov, laureate of the USSR State Prize. The writer reveals the complex process of the emergence and growth of the working class of Siberia, its participation in the 1905 revolution. Roman is multifaceted. It presents all layers of society, all the main contradictions inherent in the era. In the center of the story: taiga hunters, peasants, workers. In the first book "Goltsy" S. Sartakov introduces the reader about the historical situation of the late nineties of the nineteenth century, when, in conditions of brutal exploitation under the influence of revolutionary ideas, the first glimpses of social identity appear among the people, revolutionary moods grow. In the second book, "The East is Burning," S. Sartakov, tracing the fate of many peasant and working families, observing the life of two generations on the eve of the first Russian revolution in Siberia, shows how his heroes, courageously defending human rights, are included in a conscious revolutionary struggle.
