This textbook is intended for foreign students studying at pharmaceutical institutes and pharmaceutical faculties of medical institutes of the USSR. It describes medicinal plants and medicinal plant raw materials of tropical and subtropical countries (about 120 objects) used in scientific medicine and included in the International Pharmacopoeia. Their description is preceded by a short essay on the history of pharmacognosy of traditional medical systems.
