In the city described in the novel by Alexander Gadol, a recognizable, completely modern life proceeds with its scammers, cops and bribe-taking judges, which has an exact time reference to the country where "pioneers have not been accepted as pioneers for twenty years" and where prison is one of the most sought-after institutions.
