The textbook is devoted to one of the most important areas of training a graduate of a technical university - the applied theory of optimization. The basic concepts and definitions of fundamental provisions of the optimization theory, algorithms of mathematical programming methods used in the design of parts and assemblies of automotive equipment are considered. Theoretical and algorithmic aspects of finite-dimensional optimization methods are considered.
