Renaissance tells the story of Jamie Morton, a guitarist addicted to heroin. Traveling around the country, he meets Charles Jacobs - a priest who once came to Jamie's hometown, but then became disillusioned with the faith. Morton and Jacobs make a deal "that even the devil never dreamed of." The book takes place in the middle of the 20th century.
