In recent years, many of the past historical legends have been "exposed" or questioned, but this trend has hardly affected the Decembrist uprising, which for the second century has been confidently sitting on the ideological pedestal erected for them first by "liberal" and then by Soviet propaganda. The tragedy of December 14, 1825 is still one of the most mysterious and controversial pages of Russian history, causing a lot of puzzled questions from any non-biased researcher.
