The article is a brief overview of the history of the study of Godian manuscripts in the PRC and Russia. In addition, the author seeks to demonstrate the connection of Godian manuscripts with Confucian canons: Lun Yu, Zhong Yong, Menzu, Xun Tzu, etc. World-famous Godian manuscripts were found by Chinese scholars in October 1993 in Shayan County, Hubei Province, Urban District. The manuscripts received their name at the location of the burial ground in which the excavations were carried out. Godian manuscripts have become new material for the study of Chinese philosophy, history, calligraphy and other branches of science and art. They caused a noticeable revival among scientists around the world.
