This book is a popular exposition of the history of the city of Gori, in which the great leader of the Soviet people Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin was born and spent his childhood and youth. The materials for writing this book were historical chronicles, archival documents, memoirs of people traveling in Georgia, as well as memoirs of contemporaries. When compiling an essay on the history of the city of Gori, the author was guided by the most valuable work of Comrade L.P. Beria "On the History of Bolshevik Organizations in Transcaucasia," which deeply and truthfully covers the history of Bolshevik organizations and the revolutionary movement in Transcaucasia and Georgia, the organizer, leader and inspirer of which was the great Stalin.
