The Palace of Soviets, erected in the capital of the Soviet state, is the greatest building in the history of world architecture. But this Palace differs from all other monumental structures not only in its size, but also in the depth of the idea invested in it. In order for this idea to be embodied most vividly and expressively, the creative efforts of architecture alone are insufficient. All types of artistic creativity should participate in the creation of this structure, primarily fine arts, painting, sculpture, and the art industry. Only the creative cooperation of all these arts with architecture can solve the enormous problem of creating a nationwide Palace, a true monument to our heroic era.
