The book summarizes the results of fundamental and applied research carried out over the past 10-15 years at the Institute of Semiconductors of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. All reviews of the book are united around one of the most important problems of modern solid state physics - the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with semiconductors in the frequency range from centimeter to X-ray radiation.
