Nikitsky's peer and fellow practitioner at the Historical and Philological Institute, Nikolai Ivanovich Novosadsky (1859-1941) went into big science in the same way: the same, at the end of the Institute, a two-year scientific internship in Greece, the same passion for epigraphic research and an equally early presentation with articles (mainly in connection with new epigraphic finds) in both the Russian and Western scientific press. Novosadsky also developed early as a scientist who, with great taste, chose his own niche for himself in antiquarian studies.
