In Moscow, in the southeastern part of the city, the Moscow Automobile Plant named after I. A. Likhachev (ZIL) is spread. The noise of his workshops does not stop day and night. Strings of brand new cars with the ZIL brand leave the gates of the plant, from here they go to different parts of our Motherland, countries of Europe, Asia, South America. Early in the morning, in the afternoon, late in the evening, human flows flow into the plant - there is a shift. There are people of different ages and professions - life-wise gray-haired labor veterans, young, but already experienced car masters and very young guys and girls. This is our big, factory family. She was once small. But it was a long time ago - 50 years ago. Our plant is younger than many factories in the country, such as Kirovsky and Izhorsky in Leningrad, Krasnoye Sormovo in Gorky and Kolomensky near Moscow. He is younger than the Red Proletarian plant and the neighboring Dynamo plant. At the same time, ZIL is older than all automobile plants in the Soviet Union. The Moscow Automobile Plant was founded in 1916. Its history opens the first pages of the domestic automotive industry.
