Ulav Riste (1933) - a famous Norwegian historian, specialist in international relations, author of numerous works on the history of foreign policy relations of Norway. Founder and for many years director of the Norwegian Institute for Defense Research, currently W. Riste is deputy director of the Institute for Research. He is the initiator and participant in the fundamental project of publishing a six-volume "History of Norwegian Foreign Policy," published in 1995-97, as well as the author of a review volume created on its basis in English (2001), which became the property of readers far beyond Norway.
