The collection of documents and materials is devoted to the struggle in 1995-2020 of the Sakhalin and all-Russian public, a number of governors of the Sakhalin region and the Sakhalin Regional Duma for the restoration in the Russian calendar on September 3 as Victory Day over Japan, established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1945 and retaining its legal force to this day. The collection includes more than 100 documents, it contains materials related to the military confrontation between Russia and Japan in 1904, 1939, Japan's participation in the anti-Soviet bloc since 1936, the USSR's entry into the war with Japan (1945) and the consolidation of the Victory.
