The collection is dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Russian medieval historian, founder of historical anthropology in Russia Aron Yakovlevich Gurevich. He was a foreign member of the American Academy of Medievalists, the Royal Norwegian Society of Scientists, the Royal Society of Historians of Great Britain, the Belgian and Netherlands Royal Academies of Sciences, the European Academy, an honorary doctor of Lund and Poznan Universities. The works of A.Ya. Gurevich played an invaluable role in the dramatic transformation of humanitarian thought in the second half of the 20th century, in the renewal of historical science in the world and in our country. The desire to honor the memory of a wonderful historian was expressed by scientists from 15 countries of Europe and America, leaders of world historical science.
