Throughout the twentieth century, Africa was engulfed in incessant wars: first between colonial powers for domination of its wealth, then between colonialists and national liberation movements, and then between new political forces in already independent states. Circumstances and political regimes changed. Colonialists replaced, came and went, local dictators, leaders, even emperors came to replace the colonialists. Only one thing has not changed - war. New generations grew up on the ashes to go on the warpath again and again. Will it never end? Will the "warring continent" never know the world?
