Kyiv journalist Anatoly Zhelezny offers a completely new, unconventional interpretation of the content of the Old Russian poem "The Word about Igor's Regiment" and, based on his own theory of the origin of the Old Russian language as a Turkic-Slavic surzhik, re-translates many fragments of the poem. The book is a significant contribution to the deciphering of many "dark" places of the old Russian text of the poem and is of interest not only to literary scholars, linguists and historians, but also to the widest circle of readers.
