"On the Altar of Victory" is a book about the fate of believers, whose lives were divided into before and after the war. The first part of the book contains stories of eyewitnesses, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, documents from the Journal of the Moscow Patriarchate of wartime are given. We will meet with such authors as Metropolitan Nikolai (Yarushevich), St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky), His Holiness Patriarch Alexy of Moscow and All Russia I. In the second part, the reader will get acquainted with notes about the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905. Father Mitrofan Srebryansky in his Diary of a Regimental Priest, with stories member of the White Movement, Metropolitan Benjamin (Fedchenkov). Also remarkable are "Stories about the exploits of soldiers and officers in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878." Holy Martyr Seraphim (Chichagov). The Appendix contains stories by writers about the heroism of Russian soldiers: "Prayer on the Front Line" by Leonid Zurov, "Life and Death" by Boris Zaitsev, "Rookie of 1812" by Ivan Lazhechnikov. This book is a reminder of Russia's great past, so that Russian people know who they owe everything to, so that they love their homeland and know how to win with nobility, courage and faith in God.
