The monograph recreates the history of the uncensored press of the Siberian province from the first post-Stalin years to the period of "perestroika." The reasons for the emergence of such a sociocultural phenomenon as samizdat are analyzed, the connection of samizdat texts with the mentality of society is traced, the themes and forms of existence of unauthorized publications are characterized.
