Book prof. G.V. Zhirkova is dedicated to the history of the Golden Age of Russian journalism and the period of the First World War, which laid the foundation for the tragedy of Russia and ended with the collapse of the autocracy. It reveals the difficult conditions of the pre-war and post-war censorship regime; the processes of capitalization and politicization of journalism, which determined its features, system, typology, its information range and problem-thematic complex.
