For the first time, extensive research on the theory and application of avalanche transistors and thyristors has been generalized and developed. Their controlled static characteristics were analyzed. Physical mechanisms of their ultrafast switching under conditions of limited expansion of the volume charge region (VAD) are described. The limiting capabilities of the devices were evaluated.
