The formation, history, theoretical foundations, methodology and problems of industrial design are covered. Modern ideas are presented about the process of designing an industrial product or complex as a system of interconnected works on the development of layout and ergonomic schemes, analysis and correct choice of materials and technologies, design and aesthetic study, taking into account the requirements of psychology and sociology.
