The monograph first explores the origin, stages, content and nature of critical areas of non-Marxist historiography in the United States throughout the 20th century. The main attention is paid to revealing the contradictory features of critical non-Marxist historiography. It rejects the apologetic concepts of the American past, contributes to the deepening of knowledge of US history, but at the same time gives a different explanation than Marxist historiography of the development of American capitalism. The study of the evolution of critical non-Marxist historiography expands and clarifies the idea of ​ ​ the laws of US historical science of the 20th century.
