The monograph explores the genesis, patterns of the formation and development of cities in one of the most urbanized regions of the Tashkent oasis, which included two medieval possessions of East Maveranahr - Chach and Ilak. The relevance of the work is in the application of a systematic approach to the study of the ways and stages of urbanization, including the analysis of all categories of archaeological sites, sources of raw materials, means of internal and interregional relations, which made it possible to most objectively analyze the genetic causes and patterns of the formation of urban culture in the vast region of East Maverannahr of the ancient and Middle Ages.
