This book is the first undertaken generalizing study of the main stages of ethnic history and the most significant characteristics of society and culture of the Turkic peoples of Siberia. It includes chapters devoted to Siberian Tatars, Chulym Turks, Teleuts, Shors, Kumandins, Altai (including Chelkans, Tubalars, Telengits) and Khakasses. Its main specificity is in the most fully traced dynamics of transformation processes in various areas of the life of the Turkic peoples of Siberia throughout the 20th century, especially in the post-Soviet period.
