The pre-war 1930s are still largely mysterious and perhaps the most confusing and controversial in the history of the USSR. In this book, an attempt was made, based on a number of facts that have become known recently, to comprehend some of the events of this period. We are talking mainly about conspiracies, attempts on Stalin and the struggle for power, as well as measures to strengthen the socialist state in the face of the threat of war.
