"Prolegomena," the translation of which is published as a separate publication, is a section of the work "On the Ontology of Social Being," which gives a concise and generalized exposition of the concept developed by the Hungarian Marxist philosopher D. Lukacs (1885-1971) in this his last extensive and incomplete work. The Prolegomena reflected the results of many years of Lukacs' efforts to develop the general philosophical foundations of the theory of public life, including the results of studies such as the analysis of Hegel's philosophy, Marx's teachings on practice, the concept of socio-historical work as the basis of social life, the analysis of commodity and religious fetishism in connection with the processes of alienation, problems of historicism and social progress, etc.
