A new book by L.I. Saraskina is devoted to the diverse ties of F.M. Dostoevsky with domestic writers and thinkers of the 19th and 20th centuries. Based on the works of Pushkin, Chaadaev, Khomyakov, Rozanov, Vl. Solovyov, Berdyaev and others, the concepts of "Russia and Europe," "Russian idea," "Russian nihilism" are revealed in their historical development. Previously unknown literary sources of the novel "Demons" and the story "Bobok" have been identified; a new interpretation of the novels "The Player" (in the aspect of the writer's personal experience) and "The Brothers Karamazov" ("battlefield") has been proposed. In the context of political thought "after Dostoevsky," Russian conservatism (V.P. Meshchersky, K.P. Pobedonostsev) and Russian radicalism (N.F. Fedorov) are considered.
