The problem of irreversibility, which is one of the Great Problems of Science, is being considered. It consists in a contradiction between the reversibility of Newton's equations of mechanics and the irreversibility of real processes. The main development of the problem in the framework of kinetic theory, theory of fluctuations, ergodic theory, theory of dynamic chaos and synergetics is considered.
