The book provides experimental studies of the problem of reading from the lips. An overview of the methods of teaching reading from the lips is given, the sensory basis of reading from the lips is revealed. A significant place is given to the description of the state of teaching lip reading in schools for deaf children, programs and curricula for the formation of oral speech in deaf children are analyzed, and the principles of teaching lip reading are outlined.
