In Tibet, Karmapa is known as the "King of the Yogis." Gyalwa Karmapa is the first consciously reborn Lama of Tibet and the head of the Karma Kagyu school. He is embodied in this world over and over again for the benefit of all beings and to help his students. After several incarnations as a tantric yogi in India, he had already been reborn seventeen times in Tibet. Karmapas embody the activity of all Buddhas, and show exactly those aspects of it that are needed at the appropriate time. Their arrival is predicted by Buddha Shakyamuni and Guru Rinpoche. Karmapas, starting from the first, left accurate data on their next rebirth.
