Melvin Drescher's book "Strategic Games. Theory and Applications" is dedicated to a new section of mathematics that has appeared in recent years - game theory. Game theory helps to develop recommendations for certain actions in so-called conflict situations, the outcome of which depends on the actions of two opponents with mutually opposing interests. The book differs from books on game theory previously published in the Soviet Union in that in addition to presenting the theoretical foundations, a significant number of examples from the military field are considered. In particular, the problems of choosing objects of attack and defense, organizing reconnaissance, games such as duels, tactical air force games are considered.
