Pavel Shestakov (March 21, 1932 - July 29, 2000) was born and lived most of his life in Rostov-on-Don. In connection with the Great Patriotic War and evacuation, he studied at many schools. In 1954 he graduated from the historical and philological faculty of Rostov State University. In 1966, his first story "Through the Labyrinth" in the detective genre was published in the Ural magazine (Sverdlovsk). Ural magazine took a special place in Shestakov's writing fate. Most of his works were first published in this magazine. The story "Through the Labyrinth" attracted attention with the originality of the plot and the image of the central hero - inspector Igor Nikolaevich Mazin. The collection includes two action-packed novels by Pavel Shestakov "Through the Labyrinth" and "Three Days in Dagezan."
