Readers are invited to read a book by the famous German historian, philosopher and publicist Franz Mering, which presents the history of wars and the evolution of military art from the 5th century BC. to the beginning of the XIX century - from the Greco-Persian to Napoleonic wars. The book provides a comparative analysis of military companies of different eras, their historical significance is shown. A general overview of military historical problems is presented.
