The collection, the second in the Alanica series, was prepared by archaeologists and historians of the North Ossetian and South Ossetian research institutes in creative cooperation with colleagues from Moscow, Vladimir, Nalchik, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yasbereni (Hungary). Such a wide geography of scientific search is largely due to the unrelenting interest of scientists in the history of Iranian-speaking Alans, which played an important role in the ethnogenesis of a number of peoples of medieval Eurasia. Particular attention in the collection is paid to the Caucasian Alans, their relationships and cultural contacts with the natives of the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia, with Byzantium and Iran, Hungary and Russia.
