The book successively describes the electrodynamics of conducting media with spatial dispersion, which are often called plasma-like media. Such media primarily include gas and solid-state plasma (metals and semiconductors), as well as colloidal and molecular crystals, conductive liquid (electrolytes, mercury), etc. Following the historical path of development of ideas about such media, various models used to describe them are considered, their advantages and disadvantages are discussed, and the greatest completeness of the kinetic model based on the Vlasov-Maxwell equation system is shown. Both equilibrium and nonequilibrium and inhomogeneous media, their linear and nonlinear electrodynamic properties are considered. The book is intended for undergraduates, graduate students, and research professionals specializing in plasma physics, physical electronics, and solid state physics.
