The purpose of the book is to form and develop skills and abilities of selection, translation and extraction of information from English scientific and technical texts. The lexical-grammatical and lexical-semantic features of scientific and technical literature are considered, the method of its annotation is given, information on international information services, the most common English abbreviations, general technical terms and other reference material are contained.
