Gubarev wrote the tale "The Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors" in 1951. Her heroine, schoolgirl Olya, falls into a magic kingdom. Faced with cruelty, the girl learns to appreciate kindness, loyalty, friendship in a new way. A feature film was made based on this story.
