The work of N. K. Schilder "Emperor Alexander I, his life and reign" is one of the richly illustrated and based on large factual material books dedicated to Russian emperors. It consists of four parts. The first part describes Alexander's childhood and young years before his accession to the throne; the second is the era of transformation from 1801 to 1810; the third was the struggle with France from 1810 to 1816; the fourth was the reaction era from 1816 to 1825.
