The monograph examines the history of Manchu-Mongol relations in the 17th century. Relying mainly on Chinese sources during the reign of the Manchu Qing dynasty in China, the author recreates a picture of relations between the Manchu rulers and the principalities of southern and northern Mongolia. Particular attention is paid to the aggressive policies of the Qing Empire, forms and. methods of Manchu diplomacy, as well as the position of the Mongols in the Qing Empire of the XVII century.
