The manual is devoted to the problems of analyzing a literary text and consists of two parts; theoretical and practical. The statement of theoretical material is based on the analysis of a large number of specific examples. The main attention is paid to the semantic aspect of the analysis of linguistic units: the aesthetic possibilities of different levels of the language are studied, methods and techniques for creating semantic versatility of the text are considered. In the practical part, examples of a comprehensive philological analysis of poetic and prose texts, including comparative and fragmentary-comparative analysis, are given.
