The book presents the history of the domestic military-industrial complex (MIC) from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. Its development is organically and inextricably linked with the acute military-political situation in which the Soviet Union (Russia) was at all times of its existence. It is shown that the fundamental prerequisite for the creation and development of a powerful domestic military-industrial complex was real external threats from aggressive states that claimed world domination. They were attracted not only by the unique socio-political structure of the USSR, but also by its vast territory and richest natural resources.
