Zen is not just a school of Far Eastern Buddhism with its own worldview principles and spiritual practices. According to the compiler of the "Anthology of East and West" N. W. Ross, Zen is a whole universe. It appears as fertile ground for the development of a creative attitude to reality, and the connections between Zen and painting, architecture, garden art, Noh Theater and, of course, the tea ceremony do not look random. Zen forms part of the universal human heritage, and the West is no less inherent than the East. "Anthology" demonstrates that many figures of Western culture expressed Zen sensations, thought in Zen - without even knowing about it.
