This small book is an attempt to give only a brief outline of the versatile activity of one of the brilliant, but very contradictory in the theoretical positions of man - Galton. It was "one of the most original scientific researchers and thinkers of modern England," as K. A. Timiryazev wrote about it at the beginning of our century. Galton became famous thanks to many outstanding studies, at first glance seeming far from each other in their tasks.
